The tax ratification election passed November 3rd. The $1.17 tax rate was approved (ratified) by district voters. The vote totals were 180 for and 107 against. It’s great to see our community supporting students in their efforts to achieve. We have a great community, students, teachers and staff. It takes everyone working together to achieve success. Thanks for all you do!
The Jr. High Coyotes wrapped up their season with a 14-0 victory against Veribest last Thursday. The Junior High Coyotes were the Magnificent 7 with Reagen Lenz, Storm Teel, William King, Stanley Buttler, Ty Mann, Dillan Parker, and Colten Young. They were always outnumbered, but always played with heart and intensity. Congratulations on a good season. Congratulations to the JV team on another good year.
A good crowd cheered the Varsity Coyotes to a 56-12 victory over the Veribest Falcons. If you have never been to Veribest field, it is uniquely located squarely in the middle of a cotton patch.
The Varsity Coyotes are District 9 champions with a record of 9-1 on the year and a perfect 5-0 in district! The team and coaches have worked hard since August to get to this position. The Varsity Coyotes Bi-district game will be this Friday November 13th at 7:30 p.m. at Bangs field against The Gustine Tigers. Richland Springs is home team, but we will wear white jerseys. Home team side is the east side. Ticket prices are $6 adults and $4 students. The Pecan Valley Chapter of Brownwood will officiate the game. The road to state begins Friday.
Girl’s Varsity basketball scheduled their second scrimmages of the year this past Saturday. The Varsity girls were outscored by the Zephyr girls, and the Lady Coyotes outscored the Jonesboro girls. The Lady Coyotes kick off their season in earnest this Tuesday with a game at Coyote gym with Cransfils Gap. The Lady Coyotes are scheduled to play at Gustine on Saturday, Nov. 14th at 6:00 p.m.; however, this game may be cancelled as Gustine is in the playoffs on Friday night.
This Friday is the end of the second six-weeks grading period. Come visit with your child’s teachers and get involved in your child’s education.
