The British Paratroopers needed some ground transportation during WW II so a very small motor scooter was developed that weighed only 75 pounds and could be folded up and parachuted. It had 98cc, 2 cycle engine and could go about 90miles on 6 ½ pints of a gas. It could carry 1 trooper and backpack. I saw a picture of one that was restored and also a picture of it before it was restored. Before it looked like a pile of junk.
Looking at those pictures I was reminded of something in the Bible. Before we accepted Christ many of us had terrible lives or we lived in ways that were not pleasing to God. We are forgiven of those past ways and we get a new nature, when we accept Christ, (Romans 5:8, Colossians 3:13) but that is just the starting place. We are to continue to let Christ change or transform our lives, (James 4:1-10). It is not just Sunday morning in Church but a day by day process, (Romans 12:1&2). We do have a choice at any time in our lives we can stop the rebuilding process and never go any further.
Many start with Christ but never go on, (Philippians 3:17-21). What a beautiful little motor scooter after the restoration process and how beautiful are the one’s who let God transform their lives day by day.
See you in Church next Sunday.
