The veterans of the Wiley B. Murray Post No. 27 will meet Wednesday, November 11th for a two part program. At 7:30 a.m. members and their guests are invited to be in place at the San Saba School elementary cafeteria for a complimentary breakfast. After the meal, a patriotic program will be presented by the students. After the program, a short business meeting will take place. Those who wish to wait and eat may do so at the next program.
At 9:20 a.m, there will be an assembly of the San Saba Middle School (5th, 6th, 7th, 8th grades) that will convene in the high school cafeteria. The assembly will be coordinated by Brooke Calcote of the Leadership Class. Selected Veterans will participate in the Veterans History Project sponsored by the Library of Congress. Their interviews will be prerecorded and presented at the assembly. This project is an effort by the government to preserve the oral history of our nation's veterans working in partnership with local students.
After the program, veterans that did not dine at breakfast may dine at the high school cafeteria. Legionnaires are reminded to wear their hats and ties with a white shirt and dark pants or coat and tie. The adjutant reminds members that the 2010 dues will be collected at the meeting.
