Cris and Clarice Haines of Ruidoso and Richland Springs, Texas, recently celebrated 70 years of marriage on June 7, 2009.

They were married June 7, 1939 in Llano, Texas. They have two daughters, Sue Smith and husband Bobby Joe of Ovalo, Texas, and Christine Anthony and husband Wallace of Richland Springs, Texas.

They have three granddaughters, Judy Churchill of Del Rio, Texas; Janet Boatright of Wall, Texas and Charlene Rice of Ovalo, Texas.

They have seven great grandchildren, Katy and Tell Churchill; Kirk, J'Lee and Haley Boatright and Cristopher and Caylene Rice; two great great grandchildren, Saige and Sadie Boatright.

Their children and grandchildren, and Bo and JoAnn Haines treated them, all the week of June 7, with block parties and barbecues. There was a special party given by neighbors John and Michelle Augustyniah and Sid and Margaret Herring. A special song was written and sung for them by their own "Willie". They were thankful to all who prepared and gave them a great festive time.
