On display at the San Saba County Museum is a party-line telephone. Ralph Owen purchased this telephone and hooked on the Shaw Bend exchange in 1910. A line was run to San Saba in 1913 and within a few years became a party line of 8 to 10 homes. This is the last party line to change to present dial system in 1960. This phone was donated by J.D. Landers.
