Halloween is lots of fun for children. They start planning their costume weeks before October 31st. To make sure your children have a safe Halloween make sure the costume fits. A costume that is too long can cause a child to trip and fall. Also, consider using make-up instead of a mask to keep vision better. Some other tips include:
• Wear only flame retardant costumes.
• Costumes should be bright and have reflectors on them.
• Carry a flashlight.
• Travel in a group with adult supervision.
• Never eat unwrapped treats.
• Go only to neighborhoods you know.
• Avoid poorly lit areas.
Ration the amount of candy your child eats. Set rules as when your child can eat the candy such as only after lunch. Parents also need to set a good example by only eating after meals.
Instead of throwing out the pumpkin seeds, roast them. They are high in nutrients.
