Elodie Steger, Worthy Matron; and Max Steger, Worthy Patron; welcomed Dottie Ammerman to the stated meeting of San Saba chapter No. 191 Order of the Eastern Star on September 15th.

Dottie is the Deputy Grand Matron for District Three, Section Six of the Grand Chapter of Texas. She brought greetings and instructions from the Worthy Grand Matron, Bess Caldwell, who has as her theme, "Stand Tall and be Texas Proud".

San Saba Chapter voted to be one hundred percent in supporting the Worthy Grand Matron's benevolent projects. A hamburger-bake sale is planned for October 16th on the Courthouse Square to support these projects, which include scholarships, aid to members in need, the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society as well as other charitable programs.

The Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron provided fried chicken for the dinner preceding the meeting, with members and visitors bringing side dishes. The dessert was a decorated cake honoring the Deputy Grand Matron, who was also presented a money corsage from the chapter.

Joining the San Saba Chapter for this special meeting were members from Marble Falls, Lometa, Goldthwaite and Richland Springs.
