Fifteen Red Hatters enjoyed lunch on the historic square in Burnet on Wednesday, July 22nd.
The group had lunch at the charming Tea-licious Café (www.tea-licious.com). The café, which is decorated with antique tea cups, beautiful quilts and cozy tables with vintage tablecloths offers a variety of quiches, interesting vegetable and fruit salads, and healthy and hearty sandwiches. The café is famous for its peach tea and gourmet sweet pickles.
The group celebrated Bonnie Harkey’s 83rd birthday, shared entertaining stories and then dispersed to go shopping in Burnet and Marble Falls. Many of the ladies went to the huge Flea Market in Burnet.
Much of the lunch time conversation centered on the Summer Celebration that is planned for Wednesday, August 19th at Ann McElroy’s home near the Harmony Ridge Cemetery. The potluck Celebration starts at 11:30 a.m. and attendees will bring either a salad or dessert (the only two courses that matter!) After lunch that day, everyone is invited to stay through the afternoon to enjoy swimming, fishing, cards and games or just visiting with each other.
Linda Mixon will bring a Karaoke machine and everyone who says they can’t sing will be invited to prove it. The Celebration should be a lot of fun and anyone who has ever thought about being a Red Hatter or wondered what those gals really do when they get together, is invited. Call Carol Littlefield at 372-3883 for details.
Those attending this month’s lunch included Imogene Hawkins, Bonnie Harkey, Zolly Jones, Elsie Millican, Jymmie Linzey, Pat Belk, Wanda Davenport, Margie Osborn, Donna Bush, Connie Ballinger, Myrna Najar, Trish Warren, Merlane Pool, Carol Littlefield and Barbara Porter.
