We woke up this Monday morning to the sound of thunder and some lightening. We registered 1.5 inches here in Richland Springs. I have not contacted my rain spotter in Elm Grove, I’ll have to get that later. Maybe we will have received more by then. They got over 3 inches in Brownwood, again. They have been getting their share and ours too, it seems like.
We received an e-mail from Rusty McPherson which brought some welcome news. June is getting better! After one more test she will be declared in remission. She can now have company and eat the foods which had been restricted. Prayers are being answered so let’s keep them going.
Wilma Lee also still needs to be on our prayer list.
The Stars and Stripes celebration in Richland Springs was very well attended. The parade started at 9:00 AM followed by games for the kids as well as several kinds of competitions throughout the day. We enjoyed the parade, it was a really good one.
Michael and Marilyn played in the 42 tournament, we took part in the fish fry and then topped the day off sitting out in our back yard, eating homemade ice cream and watching the fireworks display. The fireworks were really pretty. Dean and Sandra Snoddy came and joined us and provided the ice cream.
Bethany Suber was home for the day and Lindsey Roberds visited with her.
As we kick off another new month, the 42 tournament will be at Elm Grove on the 11th, the Busy Bee quilters will meet on July 14th, and the Elm Grove community meeting will be July 20th with Wanda Dennis and Nelda Teague serving as hostesses.
Remember, the big Elm Grove Rodeo, August 6,7,& 8. You don’t want to miss it!
There is a new business in downtown Richland Springs! It is called “Ruthie’s” and it is a very pretty little gift shop. It is located on the west end of town as you are going toward Brownwood. We stopped in after the parade and we were impressed! She has some really neat things at very reasonable prices.
