Mr. & Mrs. Leonard Oliver Jr.

Miss Karen Maureen Collins became the bride of Leonard Oliver Jr. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bethesda, Md. on October 25, 2008, at 3:00 in the afternoon. Reverend James P. Meyers officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Capt. John P. Collins, Jr., U.S. Navy retired, and Mrs. Rosemary Collins, of Silver Spring, Md. She is the granddaughter of the late John P. and Marie Collins, and Elizabeth Miedwig and the late John Miedwig.

The groom is the son of Atty. and Mrs. Leonard Lee Oliver Sr., of Brady, Tx. He is the grandson of the late Ernest Lee and Leatha May Mitchell Oliver of Cherokee, Tx., and the late Kathleen Huson Maxwell, of San Antonio, Tx., and the late Roy Maxwell of Elm Grove, Tx.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless white satin gown and carried a bouquet of white roses.

The Maid of Honor was Jennifer Collins, sister of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Natalie Branagan, Christina Ken, and Amy Seitz, friends of the bride, and Mary Ann Oliver Scott, sister of the groom. They wore floor length gowns in royal blue and carried bouquets of white roses.

Caitlyn Alexandria and Regan Kathleen Scott were flower girls. Caitlynn wore royal blue and Regan wore white lace, they both carried baskets of rose petals.

The Best Man was Lt. Maxwell Lanchaster Oliver, U.S. Navy, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Guido A. Merkens III, John Michael Pollock, and Nathan Shives, friends of the groom. The ring bearer was Hayden Maxwell Oliver, nephew of the groom.

Ushers were Brian Collins, John P. Collins III, and Kevin Collins, brothers of the bride.

The cocktail and dinner reception followed in the Ball Room at the Double Tree Hotel, in Bethesda.

After a Caribbean honeymoon, the couple are at home in Austin, Texas.
