The San Saba County Commissioners met Monday, June 29th at 9 a.m. in the County Judge’s Chambers. Judge Byron Theodosis called the meeting to order, welcomed everyone to the meeting and asked Ricky Lusty to introduce his guest. Mr. Lusty introduced his granddaughter, Chaneyy Lusty who is a Freshman in High School and interested in government. Commissioner Lusty gave the invocation and everyone joined for the pledges to the American and Texas flags.

Sheriff Allen Brown gave his report which included the following: evaluation of every employee is being conducted; work is being done on the final cell; commended Chief Deputy, Bill Price, for his assistance and work;and stressed the need for taser devices. Every county surrounding San Saba uses taser devices and they are effective in bad situations. A meeting was set for 1:30 in the afternoon in the Judge’s Chambers to discuss this important matter. Attending the meeting will be Judge Theodosis, Judge Les Dawson and Sheriff Brown.

Rick Baskin presented information concerning San Saba County Insurance. A meeting with Commissioners, Judge Theodosis and Rick Baskin was set for Thursday, July 2nd at 9 a.m. for more discussion.

The Commissioners approved a Memorandum of Understanding between Hill Country Transit District and San Saba County, for use of Emergency Transportation, presented by Marsha Hardy; and a two year Intergovernmental contract between the County of San Saba and the San Saba Central Appraisal District.

The Commissioners approved changes to San Saba County Web Site through Texas Association of Counties (TAC) including necessary budget adjustments that will be for professional fees and a new Web Site.

The revised San Saba County Commissioner Precinct Lines map was received from the Texas Legislative Council. David Williams took the map to the Council to be printed and posted; however, after examination, the map is not correct and procedures to correct it has been taken.

One action item was tabled; County Treasurer Gayla Hawkins reported one employee that was part time is now full time and one new part time employee; the Accounts Payables were approved by the Commissioners.

The Commissioner’s were reluctant to put the Burn Ban into effect for various reasons. However, because of the high temperatures and windy conditions, they will discuss the matter during their meeting on Thursday, July 2nd and if necessary during a Called Meeting on Monday July 6th.

The next Commissioners Court will be July 13th at 9 a.m. Judge Theodosis adjourned the meeting.
