On July 6 at 10:00 Llano Fine Arts Guild will present new gallery owner, Heike Jost, of Burnet Art Haus Arts and Crafts Gallery who will show her expertise in creating pottery and ceramic pieces. This will be a hands on demonstration at the gallery on 503 Bessemer in Llano.
Heike Jost started her ceramic career twenty years ago at a little village pottery studio in Germany. She carries a Masters in Fine Arts Public Art and New Artistic Strategies of the Bauhaus University in Weimer, Germany. Creating unique pots and vases on the potters wheel is the passion which she comes back to again and again. Her stoneware pieces are lightweight and elegant. All pieces are thrown on the wheel and cut out with an exacto knife. The floral design on fruit bowls, vases, lamps or candle holders never repeat themselves—each piece is unique. Her excellent skills gave her the chance to show her pieces throughout the world.
Heike Jost has been in Ceramics and Fine Art since 1997 and has taught student of all ages in community schools in Nuremberg and has been a teacher at the University of Bamberg (2000-2005) Germany.
The public is invited to attend this interesting demonstration. There will be a donation fee for the demonstration which will include a pot luck lunch, after which members will begin the monthly business meeting. Llano Fine Arts Guild is a non-profit organization.
