The Central Texas College (CTC) Continuing Education Department is registering now for upcoming classes in July. A variety of dance, computer, holistic and homemaking classes are available. A few of the classes include:

Latin Dance: Cha Cha and Rhumba: This class emphasizes rhythm and basic steps for mastering these two Latin dance favorites. The class meets Monday/Wednesday, July 6 – 15, from 7-9 p.m. The cost is $31.

Graphic Design w/Adobe Photoshop, Level I: Learn how to design and manipulate photos to create beautiful graphic images. This is a basic introduction to the tools and concepts used to create and edit photographs. Class projects include cleaning up old or damaged photos, building a collage and incorporating text and graphics. The class meets Monday/Wednesday, July 6 – 29, from 6-8 p.m. The cost is $84.

Crocheting for Beginners: Create items to wear or decorate your home by learning to crochet with worsted-weight yarn. Students will learn how to read patterns and crochet using chain, single and double crochet stitches. The class meets Tuesday/Thursday, July 7 – 16, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. The cost is $26.

Astrology for Beginners: Learn about a fun and enlightening source of self-enrichment. Class topics include astrological history, planets, signs, houses, aspects and charts. The class meets Tuesday/Thursday, July 7 – 16, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. The cost is $46.

Herbal Basics: This new class provides an overview of growing and using herbs for health and well-being. Class focuses on identifying, gathering, drying and storing herbs as well as how to grow herbs organically and cooking with herbs. The class meets Thursday, July 9 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. The cost is $13.

Computer Concepts: This beginning class provides and overview of computer and Internet technologies. It defines the basic characteristics of a computer, data and files. Topics include applications software, operating systems, platform compatibility, the Internet and e-mail. The class meets each Saturday, July 11 – August 15 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. The cost is $99.

Ready to Roll: This new cooking class teaches you how to make a beautiful pumpkin roll with cream cheese filling. You’ll also discover the secrets of making sponge cake and filling while mastering the proper rolling technique. The class is Saturday, July 11 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The cost is $46.

Heartsaver AED with First Aid: Make sure you are prepared to help someone in a life-threatening situation. You will learn how to administer CPR effectively as well as how to use an AED machine. The class is Saturday, July 11 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. The cost is $43.
