Chancy Blodgett, 52, of San Saba, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at his residence in San Saba. He was born August 15, 1956 in Lampasas, Texas, the son of Clarence William Blodgett and Lorena Mae Lusty. Chancy Blodgett and Mary Nell Shahan were married at the Pecan Grove Baptist Church. Chancy worked as a wrecker driver and attended the Pecan Grove Baptist Church.

Chancy is survived by his two daughters, Shayna Grant and her husband, Tim of San Saba; and Shonda Blodgett of Richland Springs; three grandchildren: T. J. Grant; Tyler Grant; and Reid Blodgett; two sisters, Teresa Pearce and her husband, Cubby of Richland Springs; and Nan Maxcey of San Saba; five aunts and uncles, Zelma Mae Kennedy of Lampasas; Merle Grumbles of San Saba; James Lusty of San Saba; Leona Benningfield of San Saba; and Gracie Moore of San Saba; and numerous cousins, neices and nephews.

Chancy is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and one brother, Larry Ellis.

Services will be held Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Crosby officiating. Interment will follow at Harris Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends, Wednesday, June 24, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Wallace Creek Cemetery Association or the Harris Cemetery Association.
