C.D. (Leek) Sanderson

C.D. (Leek) Sanderson, 82, of San Saba passed away Saturday, December 20, 2008 in San Saba. C.D. (Leek) was born February 16, 1926 in San Saba, the son of William Mitchel Sanderson and Ima Gean Robbins Sanderson. Leek worked in the air conditioning repair industry and served with the U.S. Army. He attended the Baptist Church.

C.D. Leek is survived by one son, Bobby Sanderson and his wife Kim of Cherokee. Three daughters, Katherine Birdwell and her husband Tom of San Saba; Carla Snow and her husband Darrell of Aledo; and Melissa Shores and her husband Robert of Benbrook. Several Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren. Two brothers, Jack Sanderson and his wife Sylvia of Glen Flora; and Mack Sanderson and his wife Grace of San Saba. Two sisters, Pauline Stewart of San Saba; and Jean Sanderson of Austin; and several nieces and nephews.

C.D. Leek is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Barbara Sanderson; one grandson, Billy Dayton Sanderson; and three brothers, Edgar Sanderson; William Sanderson, and Frank Sanderson.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in San Saba with Rev. Sam Crosby officiating. Interment will follow at the Terry Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Cherokee Children’s Home.
