Dorothy Matlock, 82, of Stephenville passed away Friday December 19, 2008 at Stephenville Hospital in Stephenville, Texas. Dorothy was born July 6, 1926 in Wichita Falls, Texas, the daughter of Ben Griswold and Hazel Turner Griswold. On March 4, 1944 Dan Matlock and Dorothy Griswold were married in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Dorothy was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Dannette Wood and her husband Don of Stephenville; five grandchildren: Donald Lynn Wood, Dewayne Wood, William Matlock, Delese Kliebrink and Dana Wood; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Jenny Gilbert of Parhump, Nevada and four nieces.

Dorothy is preceeded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Dale Matlock; and one grandson, Wayland Matlock.

Services were held Sunday, December 21, 2008 at 2:00 PM, at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George McHorse officiating. Interment followed at the Holt Cemetery.

The family received friends Saturday, December 20th from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home.

The family requests Memorials be made to the Holt Cemetery Association.
