MATTHEW 23:39 "For I say unto you, ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, blessed is He than cometh in the name of the Lord."

Can you meditate upon the above scripture and imagine how it might influence people in today's world? Most will realize we are living in a very sinful and unsafe world, and some will realize the greatest world need is for peace that can only be possessed by a close relationship with Jesus Christ. Many who know Christ as their Savior are saddened by the sinful conditions of our world and are actually longing for Christ's return to destroy sinners and bring the peace He has promised. This is revealed by sermons and writings that are commonly seen in our society, and many are predicting His return may be in the near future. If it should happen, will you rejoice or be crazed with fear? The question is answered by the thought; are you ready for it to happen; and that question is answered in the printed verse. Christ will not return until people begin to say, "blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord".

But let us narrow this discussion to people of America who are recognized as the most Christian nation in the world. America was founded by people who were willing to brave the unknown dangers of travel in small unsafe ships and come to what was then an unknown wilderness: solely because they wanted to find a place where they could live and worship God as they pleased. That devotion pleased God and He has so blessed America to make it the number one nation of the world. America is truly a land of plenty and we are the most, "God blessed people the world has ever known". You can walk into some of the large department stores of America and become spell-bound to see the abundance of food, clothing, household appliances, and in fact about anything the flesh could need. It would be hard to mention a physical need that could not be found therein. But how many people do you think will pause to thank God for this great abundance and call Jesus "Blessed"? Do you dare think that those long shelves of abundance could ever be seen to be empty in America? Our nation can be paralyzed almost instantly if our foreign oil supply is cut off. Trucks could not deliver, people could not get to work, tractors could not work the fields, no harvesting could take place, and in a very short time those long line of shelves containing food and necessities would be empty. None of our airplanes could fly and our war machines would be completely useless. A lot of events and time may be endured before Christ returns to straighten this old wicked world out, but He will not be seen until people realize He is the "BLESSED".
