San Saba JV Boys win Hamilton tournament
Thursday, December 18, 2008 • Posted December 18, 2008

Over the weekend San Saba competed at the Hamilton Invitational. Losing their first game and winning the next four. Rio Vista defeated the Dillos 42-38. The next four games would show the true character of a team determined to win a championship. Wins over Hillsboro, Early and Rio Vista put the Dillos in the championship game against Hamilton. Hamilton had defeated the Armadillos in the Championship game of their own tournament only a week before. The game went back and forth with Hamilton up by two at half. The Dillos came out of the locker room with a look of determination. With seconds to play Zac Davis hit a free throw to put the Armadillos up by two. Hamilton went to the free throw line with a chance to tie the game but missed both the attempts. The boys are now 11-5 heading into games against Sonora and Grape Creek this week.
