Christmas on the Square held over the weekend was absolutely wonderful!! The San Saba County Chamber of Commerce should be commended for planning such a great event. Much participation by many different groups was enjoyed by the large crowd. Children filled floats, many of the businesses sponsored floats, and the City of San Saba employees decorated their different pieces of equipment that added a unique touch to this very special event.

The entertainment from the Methodist Church Choir and the Performance Talent Company featured many of the talented folks we have here in San Saba. Pictures with Santa were made available through SSHS student and young entrepreneur, Tyler Lackey.

The downtown businesses were open for Christmas shopping and browsing.

I think most people my age and older recall events such as this that were held when we were small. I have very fond memories of attending and participating in city-wide celebrations. I am so thankful that the kiddos of this community have the opportunity to participate in these types of traditions. THANKS – San Saba County Chamber of Commerce!

Also, Christmas with Santa was sponsored by Impact 2000 on Saturday. This event was very special to the kiddos and a fun time for all participating.THANKS too to Impact 2000 for putting on this event for the kiddos of this community!

Please be safe this Holiday Season! Remember Christmas break will begin with a 12:45 p.m. early release date on December 19. Staff will return to school on January 2, 2009 and students will return on January 5, 2009.
