Sunday was a beautiful day with very little wind and warm. It seems after a good day we have to be prepared to face some bad weather. Woke up Monday to a very cold morning with the wind blowing out of the North. It felt like it was coming from the North Pole and according to the news it will be even colder Tuesday and the rest of the week will also be cold.

Having to write the news and sending it in by Monday can’t really report on what goes on later in the week, just have to rely on the TV weather man. If the cold front would just bring some rains, everyone would be able to stand the cold much better. Hopefully next week will be able to report on how much rain everyone received.

Jane Clark was on the road again. She reported that she made a trip to New Mexico returning home Monday, December 8.

Jesse Clark was in from New Mexico visiting his dad, Bobby Clark of Round Rock and his grandparent’s William and Jane Clark. No reports of whether he got a deer, but he usually does get a nice one when he hunts.

Bad Bob’s Bait Store will not be open except on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday until February and then will be open all week long. The store will be ready for all the people who come out to fish for the white bass that sometimes begins to bite in February and March depending on the weather.

Bill and Jo Price was in Clyde Friday visiting with their granddaughters and great-grandchildren.

A bridal shower was held for Robert Hicks and Debbie Hierch this past week.

The Methodist church had their Christmas party Sunday with Santa Claus and the exchange of gifts. Santa Claus had gifts for all the youngsters who attended.

The Bend Community Christmas party will be Saturday, December 20, at 6:00 p.m. and everyone is invited to attend. Turkey with dressing and ham will be served, please bring a dish and/or a dessert. Bring a gift for Santa Claus to hand out to your youngster. A Chinese gift exchange will be held for the adults. Men are to bring a wrapped gift suitable for a man, and women are asked to bring a wrapped gift suitable for a woman.

Happy birthday greetings go out to Clovis Ketchum and Lavada McCoury who will celebrate a birthday December 21, to Jennifer Henniger whose birthday is December 24 and to the Christmas lady, Doris Poe, whose birthday is December 25.
