Ladies Golf Notes

The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met December 4, 2008 for the monthly business meeting at the beautiful recreational room at the San Saba RV Park. The Ladies Golf Association furnished the new room in conjunction with the City of San Saba but this was the first time for the ladies to meet in the new room.

The meeting was called to order by the President, Anita Miles, and opened with prayer by Nell McHorse, the Club Chaplain. The Secretary, Hattie Rogers, read the minutes and they were approved as read. Becky Hardin, in the absence of the Treasurer, Bobbie Churchill, gave the financial report for October and November 2008. Other members present were Jo Anne Hardy, Sandee Hartley, Dorothy Sterner, Jo Ann Snow, and Pat Ribb

Jo Anne Hardy gave a report on the fountains and this will be a spring project.

It was reported that Bobby Churchill is improving rapidly and will soon be back with all the ladies and will make the Christmas party!

Our sympathy goes out to the Emmitt Lloyd Byrd family. Nan was a long time and faithful member of the San Saba Ladies Association and Emmitt Lloyd has been a life long golfer who supported the golf course in so many ways! The San Saba River Golf Course has lost a fine family who we could always count on, as well as dear friends.

The annual Christmas Party will be Monday December 15, 2008 at the RV Community Room at 6:00 PM and will be catered by Betty Ann Johnson. She will be serving prime rib with all the Christmas trimmings so you don’t want to miss this special event. In lieu of gifts you may bring a financial donation to the Ministerial Alliance. This is our annual tradition. All members are urged to attend this fun and fellowship! It will be a great gala but we all know we’d rather be “swinging!”
