James Sterlin Smith

James Sterlin Smith, 60, died Monday, December 24, 2007 in Tulia, Texas. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 27, 2007 in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ernie McGaughey, retired Methodist minister officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Sterlin was born March 1, 1947 in San Angelo to Pies and Elizabeth Smith. He came to Tulia in 1984. He attended the Satellite Center from 1984 to 1999.

Survivors include his great niece; Kaitlyn Whiteley of Canyon Lake, TX; three sisters, Tracy Devin of Tulia; Elizabeth Crawford of San Saba and Beth Gage of Happy; three nieces, three nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Gene Smith and one niece, Marfa Whiteley Leatherman.
