Betty Jo "Rainey" Terry

Betty Jo “Rainey” Terry, 74, of Brownwood, passed away Friday, December 5, 2008, at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at Davis-Morris Funeral Chapel with Ruben Packer officiating. Interment, under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home, followed at the China Creek Cemetery in San Saba County. The family received friends Monday the 8th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Betty Jo was born October 10, 1934, to Ed and Lula Rainey in San Saba County. After graduating from high school, Betty Jo attended business school and went on to run her own tax service company. Later on she owned and operated Betty’s Thrift Store. She loved to cook and enjoyed painting, mostly with water colors. Her favorite colors were pink, red, and green.

Betty Jo is survived by a daughter, Peggy Jane Terry of Plano; numerous nieces and nephews. Betty Jo was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Lula Rainey; three sisters, Lillian Roberds, and Ann Miller.
