Christmas on the Square Celebration set for December 13th

The San Saba County Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to join them for their annual Christmas on the Square Celebration.

The day begins with Impact 2000 plus' Breakfast With Santa at The Father's House from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. This event is free.

At 5 p.m. parade entries will line up for judging at 5:15. The parade will begin at 6 p.m. and travel down Wallace Street, around the courthouse and back up Commerce Street.

At 7 p.m. the First United Methodist Church will perform music from the Cantata “Morning Star” on the city stage at the courthouse square.

Local merchants will remain open until 9 p.m. for you to do your Christmas shopping. There will be drawings for door prizes and some of the merchants will provide refreshments.

Don't forget to go by and see the live nativity scene on the southeast corner of the courthouse.

At 8 p.m. Kay Lynn Scott's Wildflower group will sing Christmas songs followed by the River Bend Group. These performances will end at 9 p.m. The city stage will immediately be turned into an outdoor movie screen for the movie Polar Express. There will be two food vendors on the square during the evening. One vendor will be serving hot dogs, hamburgers and funnel cakes; the other vendor will serve pizza. There will be a charge for the food.

In addition, there will be a Survivor's Golf Tournament scheduled for December 13th and 14th. Please contact the Golf Course at 372-3212 to enter.

On Sunday, December 14th, the city and the chamber will be conducting a city tour beginning at 1:30 p.m. Please meet on the south side of the courthouse to caravan by car to see some of the City of San Saba’s historical sights. The tour should last approximately two hours.
