Thursday, December 4, 2008 • Posted December 4, 2008

Mr. & Mrs. Jim Crim celebrated their “50th Wedding Anniversary” on Saturday, November 29, at the First Baptist Church in San Saba. They were married on November 29, 2008 in the same church by Dr. R.C. Tennison. To celebrate their special day, they wanted to come back to the place where they grew up and started out as husband and wife. They were honored with a Thanksgiving dinner, hosted by their daughter, Laurie Johnson; grandson , Alex; and granddaughter, Chrissy. A total of 80 family members attended the special occasion.

The day started with the renewal of their vows, performed by Rev. George McHorse. They then remembered the members of the original wedding party who are now deceased and honored the original members who were able to attend. Those were: Karen Halliburton, Shirley Hibler, Weldon Crim, Linda Hunt, Michelle Gifford, Chad Osborn, Doug Crim, Bob Crim and Loretta Taylor as a member of the original house party.

Thanksgiving lunch followed in the Fellowship Hall. The meal was catered by Betty Johnson and was enjoyed by all. It was a very special day; visiting with family members, reminiscing on old times, looking at pictures and just enjoying the day wtih their families.

Jim and Linda have lived in Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Denver and made their home in Waxahachie since 1979. They enjoy using their RV, camping and spending time with their families every chance they have. Lots of things have changed in 50 years but they both agree that marriage does take three and GOD has blessed them in so many ways.
