Thursday, November 27, 2008 • Posted November 27, 2008

The Wallace Creek Extension Education Club met on November 20, 2008 at the home of Noma Fitzgerald.

A short business meeting was held. The main topics discussed were the quilt raffle and the Pecan Food Show.

The quilt raffle is still in progress. Tickets may be purchased from the club members until the morning of December 5. The money from the sales will be used for the upkeep of the historical Wallace Creek schoolhouse, which is used for the club and community activities. This quilt will be awarded to the winner at the Pecan Food Show, December 5.

Registration for the Pecan Food Show will be on December 5th, from 7:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m at the east side of the courthouse. This event is open to women, men and youth of the county, club members and non-members using pecans in the baked goods. These entries may be purchased at the courthouse after the judging has been completed.

The meeting was adjourned.

The members present were Lynn Blankenship, Imogene Hawkins, Noma Fitzgerald, Marilyn Miller, Margie Osborn and Doris Cates.

After the meeting, members took cookies and punch to the patients at Eventide Nursing Home and celebrated the November birthdays. Everyone enjoyed the fellowship.
