Dear Editor,

Tired of being abused and put at risk by HEB.

For the second time in two weeks, when returning home and unpacking purchased items at HEB - Kingsland, I discovered missing items paid for on the receipt. Immediately calling the service counter I was politely apologized to and given the items the checker failed to put in my bag. Mistakes happen, but each time I use $10.00 in gas traveling back and forth. This has also happened at the HEB in Burnet. I wonder how many times this happens and the customer doesn't know or just blows it off to the benefit of HEB.

Maybe if the checker weren't preoccupied with badgering the customer to buy candy or whatever else their trying to push, they could make sure the customer gets what they pay for-and wanted, not what they don't want.

HEB insists on blocking the aisles with product displays making shopping frustrating, stressful, and dangerous in the case of fire. If you can't freely navigate the aisles now, wait until everyone abandons their shopping carts in the case of fire. From now on I'm going to the spend the extra gas and time to go to Wal-Mart where the customers are not badgered when checking out and safety is not compromised for the almighty dollar. The prices are better at Wal-Mart anyway.

Dear Editor,

Words cannot express the appreciation for all the assistance and support that was provided during the death of Dr. Bashaw. Naomi Ragsdale loaned us her truck and Jesse drove us to the hospital. We would also like to thank Allen Brown, Bridgette, Loyce Coffman, Mollye Hufstetter, Wayne Greenwood, Kevin Barclift, care flight and any one else that we may not have received names or forgot. We were in unfamiliar surroundings and everyone came forward and offered their assistance and support.

We are so glad to see that there are still good Christian people willing to assist strangers in a time of need. You have a wonderful, caring community and we (Jimmy and Norma Shinn, Gwen and Oscar Aparicio, and Holly Bashaw and family) would like to express our complete appreciation for everything that you did for us. God bless all of you and your families and all that you do.

Sincerely,

The Robert Bashaw Family
