No rain to report for the past two weeks. So far, only .6 of an inch for November compared to 2.3 last year. Let’s hope and pray that the rain in the forecast actually gets to us.

Marilyn and Michael Suber and I attended funeral services for Lou Simpson last Saturday at the Howell Doran Funeral Home in San Saba. Burial was at the Locker Cemetery. Lou was a very strong willed and independent person. She was well liked by everyone as was shown by the number of people at her service and the floral arrangements. Lou was a faithful member of our Busy Bee quilting club as long as she was able. We are going to miss her and we send our sympathy to her family.

Wiley and Tara Cummings and their family came down from Petersburg for Lou’s services. We got to see Wiley but we didn’t see Tara and the kids.

Marilyn and I went on to Brownwood Saturday afternoon where we were met at the Section Hand Restaurant by Lanell and Hannah Parson from Bangs; Amy and Georgia Tucker from Brady; Bethany Suber from Dublin; Stacie Smith and Nonie Elizondo from San Angelo. After lunch we went shopping. I was worn out but we had a good day. We had all planned to go visit Marla Cummings in Wills Point on Saturday but due to conflicting events, we were not able to go. We hope to see Marla sometime during the holidays.

We want to wish all of you a very Happy and safe Thanksgiving.
