Thursday, November 27, 2008 • Posted November 27, 2008

Harry’s unveiled its Boot & Hat Store on Saturday, November 22nd and brought the corner of East Wallace and High street alive with people who wished to see the changes to the building, the grand opening values, the broad selection of merchandise, as well as having the chance to win one of the various prizes being given away.

Ken Jordan and Clay Nettleship purchased local landmark Harry’s in February 2008 and immediately began renovating the business. Their plan will be in four phases; renovating the four buildings with phase one, the Boot & Hat Store. The renovations included removing plaster from the interior and exterior walls to reveal the original native lilmestone rock, refurbishing the original doors and floors, and adding new shelves & western accents.

Local entertainer Brad Williams entertained with great country music in the morning and was joined in the afternoon by well-known country singing artist Rick Trevino. Rick was joined by his son for this event.

The entire first floor of the remodeled section of the store was dedicated to boots of all kinds from walkin’, huntin’, workin’, and look’n good. The second floor has 3 rooms of hats plus a room for custom hat shaping demonstrated by employee Scott Miller.

Ken and Clay have other future plans for this landmark establishment. They encourage everyone to check in often to see how they are progressing with the next three phases.
