Psalms 119:89 "For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven." There are those of us who believe that. I do realize that we will never be able to understand all that the Bible teaches, nor can we live to the letter, all that we do understand about it. The Bible is either all true, or all false. There are not some things in the Bible that can be accepted, and others that can be rejected. If it is true, then we are accountable for every jot and every tittle in it. I meet people daily who tell me that they believe most of the Bible, when in reality what they are saying is "I believe what I want to believe and reject what I don't want to believe." Some think that just because they refuse to accept the teachings of the Bible that somehow nullifies their accountability. Revelation 20 paints a vivid picture of those who have rejected Christ and the Bible. Here is a view of the unsaved standing before the judgment of God. In verse 12 we read these words, "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened:" One of the books that will be opened is the Bible, the Word of God; the book that God gave to mankind as an instruction manual on how to live life and how to prepare for death. It is imperative, because of the eternal consequences, to learn what the Bible has to say, believe it, and strive to live by the truths that it teaches. The most important of these truths is that "Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners" and "whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Believe the Bible now and trust Christ today because you will face both again someday, and when you find out the truth, it may be too late. There are no second chances after death. It is in this life or never. Eternity is too long to find out you were wrong.
