We have GREAT kids here at San Saba ISD. I am continually amazed by their polite attitudes, their willingness to work hard, and the respect they give their teachers. As I travel to different school events, participate in regional and state opportunities, I see and hear first hand about the difficulties schools are having with students. That is not to say that we do not have our challenges here too. Each and everyday, teachers, principals, coaches, counselors, bus drivers, and custodians encounter students with whom they may have an opportunity to have a teachable moment. I feel we are so fortunate to have a staff that are willing to support students and take the time to seize those teachable moments that will hopefully impact that student for a life time.

The fall of the year is always a stressful time. There is much work being done in the classroom and students and teachers alike are tired and needing a break. But please help us keep our students on track through this fall of the year. Please check grades and attendance regularly, don’t be afraid to call the school counselor, principal or classroom teacher just to check in to see how your student is performing.

Thanksgiving break is nearing and a little time off will be good to regroup, spend time with family and get re-focused before the end of this semester. Thanksgiving break will begin on Wednesday, November 26 and continue through Friday, November 28. Christmas break will begin with an early release date on Friday, December 19 and students will return to school on Monday, January 5.

Please support your students and teachers with a smile and pat on the back…school work is hard work and everyone should be appreciated for the accomplishments they are making!
