Elm Grove Echoes
Thursday, November 13, 2008 • Posted November 13, 2008

It has been a month now since we had our last 2.5 inches of rain. We are seriously in need of moisture.

Robert Williams, of the Dallas area, visited with Bonnie and Junior Evans one day last week. He was our pastor at Elm Grove many years ago. He was a Howard Payne student at the time and ours was his first church to pastor. He was asking about everyone that he knew in Elm Grove back then.

Marilyn and I had a nice visit with Nellie V. Wood in Brownwood last Monday. Marilyn went by to give Nellie V. a haircut since it is getting a little more difficult for her to come to the shop down here.

Remember the community meeting this Saturday night. Hostesses are Valerie Gossett and JoLynn Tharp. The plans will be made for the upcoming Christmas party and program to be held on Dec. 20th. As in the past, that date is subject to change depending on the football games. If the Coyotes are still playing, the party might be on Friday night instead of Saturday.

The Coyotes won another one last Friday, defeating Veribest by a score of 46-0 in the second quarter. The boys now face Strawn this Friday night in Hico for bi-district.

There was a large group of family and friends gathered at Richards Park last Saturday to celebrate the 5th birthday of Jesse Tucker. Since there are four more of us with November birthdays, we met back at the home of Rex and Amy Tucker for a birthday lunch for all of us.

I accompanied Michael and Marilyn Suber to the wedding of Alan Taylor and Donna Stengel last Sunday. It was held immediately after services at the Richland Springs Baptist Church. It was a nice ceremony and we certainly wish Alan and Donna all the best.
