San Saba Girls Youth Basketball League

The San Saba Youth Girls Basketball League has reached the midway point of the season with the Lady Extreme leading the 5th/6th grade division with a perfect 4-0 record. The Lady Extreme are followed by the second place Lady Bullets and third place Lady Swish.

Although the Lady Extreme are undefeated, the largest margin of victory they have managed has been a 6 point win over the Lady Bullets and a 4 point win over the Lady Swish which shows how competitive this division is.

Highlights of the first half of the season were: Lady Swish 13, Lady Bullets 13 - Kayla Novak hit 3 out of 4 free throws late in the fourth quarter including one with 10 seconds left in the game to tie the game for the Lady Bullets.

Lady Extreme 16, Lady Bullets 10 - Joy Trujillo exploded for 12 points in the third quarter to lead the Lady Extreme past the Lady Bullets. Mckenna Maxcey scored all 10 points for the Lady Bullets.

Lady Extreme 15, Lady Swish 12 - After trailing 12-3 at the end of the third quarter, the Lady Swish stormed back with 9 fourth quarter points to tie the game. The Lady Extreme would hit 3 out of 4 free throws late in the game, 2 by Mercedes Hensley and one by Sara Watkins, to seal the victory. Joy Trujillo scored 10 points for the Lady Extreme while Hailey Osbourn scored 7 points for the Lady Swish, including 5 points in the fourth to help lead the fourth quarter come back.

Lady Bullets 20, Lady Swish 12 - Tori Bauerschlag scored 10 points and Mckenna Maxcey added 6 points to lead the Lady Bullets to their first win of the season. Hailey Osbourn scored 6 points to lead the LadySwish.

Lady Extreme 15, Lady Swish 11 - Ashlyn Turner hit two free throws late in the game to seal the victory and help keep the Lady Extreme undefeated. Turner finished with 8 points to lead the Lady Bullets while Hailey Osbourn led the Lady Swish with 10 points.

Lady Swish team members include Hailey Osbourn (6.2 points per game), Leigh Riggs, Britney Rixse, Alexus Saldivar, Mary Wright, Stormy Ramos, Hollie Ragsdale and Alexsandra Gonzales.

Lady Extreme team members include Joy Trujillo (8.5 points per game), Ashlyn Turner (4.2 points per game), Mercedes Hensley, Shelby Buttler, Maddie Nettleship, Sara Watkins, Ally Bourke and Katy Ingram.

Lady Bullets team members include Mckenna Maxcey (6.0 points per game), Tori Bauerschlag (8.0 points per game), Kayla Novak, Shea Scott, Micah Cox, Mckenzie McBee, Breann Hellner and Mykah McKinnerney.

In the 3rd /4th grade division, the Hot Shots lead the division with a 4-0 record followed by the Crush in second place and the Shooting Angels in third.

The most exciting game of the season was a 17-15 thriller as the Hot Shots defeated the Crush. Raylee Pannell hit a buzzer beater with no time left on the clock to seal the win for the Hot Shots. Pannell scored 8 points for the Hot Shots while 2nd grader Linzey Maxcey had 8for the Crush.

Shooting Angels team members include Hannah Hibler, Cheyenne Maldonado, Bailie Santeufemia , Hallie Taylor, Jaycie Johnson, Megan Sanchez and Hannah Osbourn.

Hot Shots team members include Abigail Ingram, Raylee Pannell, Brooke Nagle, Kimeri Moore, Dynasty Saldivar, Aungelique Golding and Brenna Chambers.

Crush team members include Raley Kirk, Kassidy Ellis, Erica Vega, Juana Macias, Bailey Bush, Paige Sloan and Linzey Maxcey.

Saturday, November 1st schedule includes:

9 a.m.- Crush vs. Shooting Angels

10 a.m. - Lady Extreme vs. Lady Bullets

11a.m.- Hot Shots vs. Crush

12 Noon- Lady Bullets vs. Lady Swish

All games are played at the San Saba Middle School (white) gym.
