The 7th Dillos made the long road trip to Junction last Thursday to take on the Eagles. The Dillos were finally able to do something they haven't been able to do all year, get a road win. From the first whistle to the last, the Dillos took care of business.

Kolton Ellis fielded the Eagles kickoff and managed to gain 10 yards on the return. The Dillos offense started the game clicking on all cylinders. Dallas Caldwell made runs of 20, 5, and 6 yards and Kelan Verette made runs of 10, 8, and 5 yards. These runs were behind the blocking of Brandon Amstead, Kristian McCoury, Oscar Villa, Gunner Hibler, Wesley Gates, and Brian Rogers. Geryn Young caught a pass from Verette for 15 yards. Kolton Ellis made a 7 yard plunge into the end zone for a TD. Kelan Verette punched in the 2 pt. try. 8-0 Dillos.

The Dillos defense came out with a mission. That mission was to give up 0 points. The Dillo defense was swarming to the football. Ruben Aquirre, Geryn Young, Brian Rogers, and Oscar Villa came up with big defensive tackles. Cosme Diaz had good coverage on the drive. Ruben Aquirre made a big hit in the backfield to bring up 4th down. A missed punt return allowed Junction to keep the ball. Oscar Villa took the ball from the Eagles running back and made a return of 8 yards. Dillos football!

This next offensive drive had 2 different TD's called back because of penalties. The drive stalled out and the Dillos turned the ball over on downs.

The Eagle drive started on their own 35 yard line. Jordan Watson and Cosme Diaz made the tackle on the first play of the drive. Geryn Young covered the receiver well on 2nd down. Dallas Caldwell picked the ball off and went 60 yards for the TD with Oscar Villa and Dustin Sloan leading the way. The 2 pt. try was no good. 14-0 Dillos.

Oscar Villa handled the kickoff duties for the Dillos. He made a well placed kick and Kelan Verette was able to fall on the football. Dallas Caldwell made runs of 4 and 7 while Kolton Ellis made runs of 8 and 7 yards. Cosme Diaz caught passes of 6 and 7 yards. Kelan Verette made runs of 12 and 11 yards before finally scoring on a 1 yard run because of the blocking of Ashton Krueger. Jordan Watson caught the pass on the 2 pt. try. 22-0 Dillos at the half.

The Dillos kicked off to the Eagles to start the second half. Oscar Villa and Brian Rogers made tackles for a loss. Jordan Watson forced a fumble but the Eagles were able to get back on the ball. Junction was forced to punt.

This next Dillo drive was the best drive of the ball game. The Dillos controlled the clock and ran eleven plays. Kelan Verette made a run of 10 yards and Kolton Ellis made a run of 5 yards. Dallas Caldwell was the work horse for this drive. Caldwell carried the ball 9 times for 68 yards. His final run of 13 yards got him a TD. The 2 pt. try was no good. 28-0 Dillos.

The Dillos had to get one more stop to get the ball back and run out the clock. That is precisely what they did. Daniel Calderon, Ismael Ramirez, Ryan Salinas, Kelan Verette, and Dallas Caldwell made key defensive plays on this drive. T.J. Hibler provided good coverage down the field. Gunner Hibler made a tackle on the 4th down to give the Dillos the ball back. The Dillos ran out the clock. 28-0 Dillos win.

The Dillos improved their season record to 5-2 on the year. The Comanche Indians come to Rogan Field this week to battle the 7th grade Dillos. Hope to see you there!
