We have had no rain this week but everything is pretty and green. There has been enough moisture lately that the county burn ban has been lifted for the time being. There is a lot of yard cleaning going on during these cooler days.

I have a new great grand daughter, born to Cody and Kristie Cummings on October 17th. She is small, weighing only 5 pounds and 3 ounces and is 19 inches long. Her name is Shayly Rhys. They live in New Mexico so we can’t just run out to see her. I now have 5 great grandsons and 4 great granddaughters. I feel very blessed.

We had a good crowd for the gospel singing last Saturday night with 42 present. Wayne Powell and Johnie Reeves did most of the leading and Kay McKee and Christine Anthony played the piano for us. Johnie played his guitar and sang several songs. We were glad to have the Cecil Campbells with us again. There were folks there from Richland Springs, Locker, Bangs, Goldthwaite and Austin. We all had a very good time and invite everyone to join us for the next one.

Kay and Gerald McKee had their triplet grandchildren with them at the gospel singing. Great grandma, Gladys Powell, helped out while Kay was playing the piano. They are cute kids and quite a handful to keep up with, I am sure.

There were six Busy Bee quilters out last Tuesday. They completed a quilt for Marilyn Miller and after lunch they were to put in one for Fay Lusty. Present were Catalina Luna, Grace Hardman, Irene Hammett, Fay and Gloria Lusty and Marilyn Miller. They are planning a Thanksgiving dinner for the November meeting.

The Richland Springs Coyotes won another football game by defeating Robert Lee 56-6. The game ended in the third quarter. The Coyotes will travel to Rochelle this Friday night. I’m sorry that I never have any information about the Jr. High and JV Coyotes, but I understand they are doing real well. By the way, I understand that my great-grandson, Jaxon Tucker, along with some other Boy Scouts from Brady, will be raising the flag at the game in Rochelle.

Marilyn Suber drove me to San Angelo today for my 6 month checkup with Dr. Rahman. Everything seems to be just fine. We had a good lunch and visit with Stacie Smith and some of her friends while we were there.
