![]() "Tuff Enuff to Wear Pink” benefit playday for Jessica Estrada
The Richland Springs Playday Association hosted a “ Tuff Enuff to Wear Pink” benefit playday for Jessica Estrada, Saturday, September 20, 2008. The benefit was a great success with many local riders participating. Jessica & her family were able to attend the event & Jessica even participated in the leadline division, assisted by her local clinician “Dr. Karen” Little. Thank you to all the contestants that came to ride for Jessica. Leadline riders: Daylon Smith, Emyris Mims, Madia Norris, Lanie Norris, Lily Mims, Tyler Grant & Keston Lusty. 6 & under riders: Mekalia Castro, Kynedi Isham, Lane Shannon, Chase Gossett, Alicia Sweeney, TJ Grant. 7 to 10 contestants : Hutton Lusty, Kutter Isham, Chandler Lusty, Levi Shannon, Jordan Gossett, Mykah McKinnerney & Jacey Gossett, 11-14 contestants: Kristin Isham, Elizabeth Bryant, Michael McKinnerney, Ember Terry, Sammi White,& Bralei Lusty.15 & over contestants: Franky Soto, Tana Lusty, Karen Little, Summer Mitchell, Mary Terry, David Martinez, Dale McKinnerney, Justin Castro,& Spudnick Bush. These contestants proved that they were “tuff enuff” to wear pink while competing in Cloverleaf & Straightaway Barrels, Flags, the Spur, Dummy Roping, Breakaway Roping & Tie down roping. Special thanks to Tom Epperson for donating the roping calves. When the events were completed Jessica presented High Point Trophies in each age group. Leadline: Emyris Mims, 6 & under: Kynedi Isham, 7-10: Hutton Lusty, 11-14: Micheal McKinnerney, 15-19: Franky Soto, 20 & over: Tana Lusty. She also presented the High Point boy & Girl of the day with trophy Breastcollars; High Point Girl: Emyris Mims, High Point Boy: Micheal McKinnerney. A BBQ plate lunch prepared by Joe Pete Smith, Stuart Isham & Ronnie Pete Smith was served by donation throughout the day, with side dishes & desserts donated by Marci Wright, Suni Norris, Sally Gossett, Tim & Shayna Grant. Thanks to Barry Gannoway, Brad & Shelli Shannon, Joe Pete & Danna Smith, Stuart & Jessica Isham, Ronnie Pete Smith, Bill & Carl Bryant, Barry Fikes, Richland Springs Youth Sports, Hamrick’s Automotive, Isham Electric, Hibler’s Processing, Double G Pit Stop , SSVFD, Wayne & Valerie Gossett, Reagan Maxcey, Weldon Faught, Danny & Amy Shaw, Dale Becker & Spudnick Bush for the donation of your help in and out of the arena. Thank you to McKinnerney Real Estate for providing the Polaris Ranger for the event. An unexpected donation was given on Saturday when Dale Becker & Spudnick Bush agreed to have their hair cut if people would donate money on Jessica’s behalf. After collecting some $500, both Dale & Spudnick walked away with new haircuts. The RSPA was able to present the family with a check in the amount of $2000.00 !! Thank you all for your participation & support in this effort !!
