This is the season when so many of our extra curricular groups are commencing their fund raising activities. On behalf of these groups we appreciate your participation. I wanted to let you know about a way that you can help San Saba Schools without committing extra dollars. Each of the San Saba ISD campuses are enrolled in two programs that are called “passive fundraisers”. These two programs are Target Red Card and Box Tops for Education. The Target Red Card contributes 1% of the purchases made by an individual to a campus of their choice in the San Saba ISD system.

Box Tops for Education is a program San Saba schools has participated in for many years. This program takes very little effort, but can gleam significant dollars for individual campuses.

How does Box Tops for Education work? If you have access to the internet, the official site provides a wealth of information about the program. You can find this site at www.boxtops4education.com . Basically, all that is required to help our schools is clip Box Tops as indicated on the top of major brand name of products. You can’t miss the Box Tops on many of your favorite products. To find a list of products, please access the website. For every Box Top that is submitted by the campuses, the campus will receive ten cents. This may not seem like a great deal of money, but if we all combine our Box Tops the amount of money we collect will be significant. Box Tops has helped America’s school earn over $250 million in the past 12 years.

If you are interested in helping our schools with this project simply clip and collect Box Tops and periodically send them to the campus of your choice. If you have school aged children at home, send the Box Tops with your child to school. If it is easier for you to drop off the Box Tops here at the Central Office, please feel free to do so. We will divide the Box Tops evenly between the campuses.

Please do not forget the upcoming open house on October 20. Also, please remember the early release from school that is scheduled on October 24. Buses will run at 12:45 pm on this date.

Please remember that our website is the key to keeping up-to-date on school happenings. Please visit www.san-saba.net to view events and find information you need to know about SSISD.
