After the good rain that everyone received last week things are beginning to look up. Monday the day started off with a light drizzle and the promise of more rain, but as of 3:00 p.m. Monday no rain just a cloudy day.
Last week it was reported that Lesa and Hugo Preece had just returned from a trip to Oregon. Well, what was not reported was that they had driven to Austin to fly out to the Coast and to avoid paying the large rental fee imposed on parking at the airport, they left their locked pickup at Hugo’s brother’s house in Kyle. Some Mexican Nationals decided that they needed it worse than Hugo and proceeded to somehow get it unlocked and took off to San Antonio. The police pursued them and did catch them, but not before the pickup was so damaged that it was totaled. Hugo is now driving a new red Ford pickup. Some ending for a near-perfect vacation.
Barbara Jones spent a couple of days in Killeen visiting friends and going to the eye doctor for a check up. No need for new glasses, so she celebrated by going shopping with two of her friends and of course having a bite to eat.

Patsy Henniger was in Cedar Park baby sitting a grandson this last week while the rest of the family was in California. The whole family of Mickey Henniger had planned to go, but because of a school function one son wasn’t able to go and needed someone to be with him, so who else better than a grandmother.
Tommye and Rufus Cobern had visitors. Grandson Adam, Becka, Karman and Katy Marley of Huffman spent the weekend and left Monday for their home.
Rufus was in Burnet Monday morning to visit his dermatologist. He had a place on one eye lid that the doctor did a biopsy on, but a little thing like that didn’t stop him from playing dominoes Monday afternoon with Bernice Potter, Tommy Smithhart and Jack Daniels.
No report was given by Jerome and Shirley Meischen about the Texas, Oklahoma game this past Saturday, but according to the news in the Killeen paper, Texas pulled the rug out from under Oklahoma in the last part of the game.
Jerome and Shirley may still be caught up in the heavy traffic on 35, which was reported on TV of the people that were trying to get to the game. The station was giving out different routes you could take to bypass some of the congestion.
Bill and Jo Price were in Hamilton Saturday and Sunday attending the White reunion. The gathering was smaller than last year, but a good time was had by all. Genealogy and picture taking was enjoyed by all and of course the catered fish and brisket wasn’t bad either.
