Linda Tharp, 67, of Elm Grove, formerly of Dripping Springs, TX. passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at her residence in Elm Grove. She was born May 3, 1941 in Blanco, Texas the daughter of Ollie Sorrell and Alma Felps Sorrell. In May 1959, Linda Marie Sorrell and Walter Tharp were married in Dripping Springs, Texas. She attended the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Tharp of Elm Grove; Sons: Charles Tharp and his wife Jo Lynn of Elm Grove; William Tharp and his wife Hope of Wylie; Texas and Steven Tharp and his wife Kim of Elm Grove. Grandchildren: Charlie Tharp and his wife Shelly, Jason Tharp and his wife Tara, Cheyenne Tharp, Brittney Tharp, Ryan Tharp, Brandon Tharp, and Sierra Tharp. Great-Grandchildren: Cohen Tharp, Hudson Tharp, Avery Tharp and Luke Ryan Tharp, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Joey Tharp; and one brother, James Sorrell; and Mother and Father-in-law.

Services were held Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Varga Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Tony King officiating.

Family received friends, Wednesday, October 8, 2008, 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home in San Saba.

Family requests that memorials be made to The Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or to the Varga Chapel Cemetery.
