The 52nd annual San Saba County Pecan Food Show was held Friday, December 7th at the Court House. In the Club Division, the judges chose Imogene Hawkins and her Brown Sugar Pound Cake as the Grand Champion and Connie Ballinger’s Creamy Pecan Pralines as Reserve Champion.

In the non-club division, Patsy Stewart was named Grand Champion with her Vanishing Pecan Pie and Donna Blossman Reserve Champion with her Double Drizzle Pecan Cookies.

Brenda Gibson was awarded the Grand Champion Rosette for her Pecan Pumpkin Fudge and Joely Haverland the Reserve Champion rosette for her Pecan Fudge Bars.

Along with their rosettes, each champion received a check from the Extension Council. Their names and pictures will be included in the 2008 edition of Pecan Food Show Champion Recipes cookbook along with their recipes if they choose to share them.

The Pecan Food Show Committee members, Marcie Cooper, Mary Jane Dennis, Imogene Hawkins, Fran Hulgan and Janet Red, would like to thank everyone who took time from his or her busy schedule to make this year’s Food Show a success.
