I can’t believe that we are actually in our 7th week of school. Parents of PK through 4th graders can expect their first 6-week grading period report card of the year this week. In grades 5 -12 the students are on a 9-week grading period which will end on October 24. The end of the first grading periods provide the school district the opportunity to participate in some traditional events – Open House and Parent Conferences. Open House for San Saba ISD will be hosted on October 20.

Open House is a time for parents on all campuses to come to school in the evening in a casual environment to speak with teachers, counselors and administrators about their student’s school life. Open House will be conducted according to the following schedule: San Saba Elementary – 4:00 – 5:30 PM; San Saba Middle School 5:00 – 6:00 PM; and San Saba High School 5:30 – 6:30 PM. Also, on this date, parents of students in grades 7-12 will be asked to attend a meeting at 6:15 pm to hear information on a new program called “Worth the Wait”. This informational session will provide parents literature about the program and solicit their child’s participation. Invitational letters should be going out soon to parents of students in grades 7-12.

Also, important to note the week of October 20 – 24 will be TAKS testing for students who have not yet passed the TAKS test at the Exit or graduation level. Additionally, Friday, October 24 will see an early release date for all campuses in the District. School will be dismissed at 12:45 PM at which time the buses will run their regular afternoon routes.
