Elm Grove Echoes

It seems that we had from 2 to 2.5 inches of rain in the Elm Grove area from the cloud that blew in Sunday night after midnight. We received 1.5 inches here in Richland Springs. This brings the years’ total to 16 inches for Elm Grove, far short of the same time period last year.

There were 11 present for the Holt Cemetery meeting last Saturday. Dwight Gober was elected as vice-president to replace Coy Gober. Charles Polaski was elected to take the place of Ernest Gober as a director. President and secretary and treasurer remained the same.

The cemetery association is in need of money for the upkeep of the cemetery. In the past we have relied on the interest from the CD to pay for the upkeep, but the interest is so low now, it is not enough to do the job. Some donations or memorial gifts would certainly be appreciated from the families of those who are buried there. Your donations may be sent to Patricia Nehr 29 CR 416 Rochelle, Texas 76872. It is tax deductible, if that makes a difference to you.

The Richland Springs Coyotes traveled to Buckholts last Friday night and took care of business by halftime with a score of 64-18. They now go to Eden this Friday night for the first district game.

The 42 tournament will be Saturday night, Oct 11th at Elm Grove. The Busy Bee quilters will meet Oct. 14th. Again, we urge you to join us for the gospel singing on the 18th at Elm Grove community center.

As we write this on Monday night, there is thunder rumbling overhead. Maybe there will be more rain to report next week.
