The San Saba Golf Course held the 5th annual Fall Pecan Classic on September 26th and 27th. The event is hosted and organized by Buddy Adams, and brings in 40 to 50 golfers from all over the state and one from Glendale, AZ each year.

This year there were 49 players competing for this prestigious title and 2007 winner Jerry Minter of Cherokee continued his great play by winning the event again. Minter had two very solid rounds and held off a hard charging Mike Conners of San Saba who took home the runners-up hardware.

Others in the money were 3rd place Carter Gresham of Granbury, 4th Johnny Clawson of San Saba, 5th Matthew Riddle of Arlington, 6th Ray Johnston of Arlington, 7th Wesley Adams of San Saba, and 8th Marty Gray of Cherokee.
