Craig Hallmark, 57, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2008, at his home in San Antonio, Texas. Hurston Craig Hallmark was born February 10, 1951 to Raymond Hurston Hallmark and Joyce Johnson Hallmark.
Craig retired this past year from the Northeast ISD in San Antonio after serving 30 years with the district. Twenty-nine years were at MacArthur High School where he was instrumental in establishing a law enforcement and criminal justice program and an activity administrator for MacArthur High School.
Craig grew up in the Northeast ISD, being a first year attendee at Walzen Elementary, Krueger Junior High, and Roosevelt High School. His college career was at Southwest Texas State University where he earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; brother, Doug Hallmark and wife, Beverly; and sister, Tama Blend and her husband, Jim - all of San Antonio; maternal grandmother, Emma Sutton Johnson; uncles and aunts - Craigan and Betty Ann Johnson, Jerry and Eleanor Johnson - all of San Saba, and Tommy and Connie Taff of Harrison, Arkansas; two nieces and one nephew; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hurston Hallmark and Joyce Johnson Hallmark; step-mother, Sue Stark Hallmark; and his grandparents, Irby Johnson, Raymond Hallmark and Zula Johanson Hallmark.
Craig was a member of the Church of Christ. Following his wishes, he was cremated and his ashes are to be spread in a number of memorable places by his family.
