Ray Boltz
Thursday, September 25, 2008 • Posted September 25, 2008

Ray Boltz was born in Muncie, Indiana in 1953 and has had a very successful music career. He is well known in the contemporary Christian music circles. Not only is he a singer, but he is also a songwriter.

He has won many awards and has sold over 4 ½ million albums, cassettes and CDs. He has even had an audience of over 1 million people. He was married for over 30 years and has four children.

But something went wrong and he started visiting a mostly gay church, Jesus Metropolitan Community Church in Indianapolis. He left or divorced his wife and retired from music and announced recently that he is gay.

His statement is “If this is the way God made me, then this is the way I’m going to live.-” God loves us but he expects us to change or leave sinful lifestyles behind, (1 Samuel 7:3).

According to Boltz's reasoning, we can all stay the way we are no matter if we are an adulterer, fornicator, murderer, thief, habitual liar, drug addict, alcoholic, porn addict, or we molest little children.

We are told to not do those things and to flee them if we are Christians, (1 Corinthians 6:18, 1 timothy 6:11, 2 timothy 2:22, James 4:7). God can and will help us get victory from or over them, (Philippians 4:13). Nevertheless, He is going to punish disobedience, (Revelation 22:12). See you in Church next Sunday.
