County offices considering going to four day work week
Thursday, September 18, 2008 • Posted September 18, 2008

In response to high utility and fuel costs, several county governments and businesses are considering going to a four day ten hour work week for non-emergency and law enforcement personnel. However, besides the obvious savings on fuel related items this change will impact service to our citizens in both good and bad ways.

The obvious and significant changes are: the courthouse offices will be open earlier and later than the usual business day allowing patrons to take care of business before and/or after their workday, and on the negative side one day of the normal work week (probably Friday) the courthouse offices will be totally closed and unavailable.

The county offices would like to have your input before they ask the Commissioners' Court to seriously consider a change. Please call Pat Faught in the Clerk's office at 372-3635, and/or the judge and your commissioner.
