Elm Grove Echoes
Thursday, September 18, 2008 • Posted September 18, 2008

Out at Elm Grove we received 1.2 inches of rain last week and were hoping for more out of the hurricane. We are enjoying the cooler temperatures but I can’t help but dread the old cold winter weather.

There were only six members present at the Busy Bee quilting last Tuesday. They were Carol Orr, Irene Hammett, Grace Hardman, Marilyn Miller and Fay and Gloria Lusty. Marilyn had brought a quilt to be worked on which had been pieced by Elsie Stinson. It was a very pretty quilt. Fay Lusty will bring a quilt for the ladies to work on in October.

Andy Cummings and his partner won first place in the 42 tournament last Saturday night in Richland Springs. Bill Harlow and David Hulme took home second place. The next tournament will be October 11th at Elm Grove.

The Richland Springs Coyotes again were the big winners last Friday night when they traveled over to Lometa and defeated the Hornets by a score of 62-14 by halftime. Both the Jr. High Coyotes and the Jr. Varsity Coyotes also defeated the Lometa Hornets on Thursday night. The varsity Coyotes will now host Gordon this Friday night.

Grace and Harold Hardman celebrated their 61st anniversary last week. Congratulations to them.
