Last week was a dry week with no rain, but it was cooler. A light shower came Monday around noon with the promise of more to come this week.
The storm coming into the Gulf just might bring in the rain, but the weather people don’t seem to know where “Ike” is going to go.
They do think it will be somewhere along the coast of Mexico, Texas or even New Orleans, Mississippi or Florida. In other words they really don’t know what it is going to do. When it hits next week sometime we will all know for sure.
Jerome and Shirley reported the latest news on their grandson Blake Gideon who is attending University of Texas with a full scholarship and is playing on the Texas Longhorns team.
He plays safety on the defensive team and his number is 21. If you happen to be watching the games on TV you maybe able to spot him. The Longhorns won the Florida/Atlantic game with a score 52-10 and UT/El Paso with a score of 42-13. Blake played in both games.
Steve and Ralene Gideon of Leander are the proud parents. His sister Quincee attends A&M and will get to attend some of the games. It will be interesting to see which side she will sit on when Texas plays A&M!
It was not reported if Jerome and Shirley were able to attend the two games, but you can just bet they will be watching their televison sets if not able to be there in person to cheer on their grandson.
