Today's Girls to hold fundraiser at Pecan Trade Days
Thursday, August 28, 2008 • Posted August 28, 2008

The Heart of Texas Regional Today's Girls will have a booth at the upcoming Trades Day on Saturday, September 6th, to collect donations of cash or gift cards for the Cummings family of Mineola, Texas, who recently lost everything in a house fire. Carley Cummings has participated at the local, state, and national levels of competition since the program was formed. The girls in this region have decided to show their support by organizing this fundraiser. They would appreciate your help in this endeavor.

The Today's Girls program was founded by Doug Conn and is one of the fastest growing organizations of its kind for young ladies. One of the main focuses of the programs is to make the girls aware of the many ways they can contribute to their community, state, and nation by volunteering on various occasions. They are a part of the Presidential Volunteer Program, and over the past four years have clocked in well over 6,000 hours. These girls are achieving invaluable training in poise, self-confidence, and talent along with their contributions to our society.

The Heart of Texas region has chosen the San Saba Civic Center for the location of the regional competition to be held on Saturday, April 4, 2009. San Saba will have the opportunity to meet these girls and find out what Today's Girls has to offer the young ladies in our region.

Please visit the girls' booth at the San Saba Courthouse from 10 a.m. until noon. Also, come and enjoy the music provided by the students from Performance Talent. For more information, you may contact Kay Lynn Scott at 325/372-8600, or send your email to:
