Commissioners' Court holds bi-monthly meeting

County Judge Byron Theodosis called to order the Monday, August 25th, meeting of the Commissioners' Court. Ricky Lusty gave the invocation followed by everyone joining in the pledges to the American and Texas flags.

Randy Henderson, County Chief Appraiser, explained the new proposed tax rate of .71200 (from .6589), as well as homestead exemptions.

The following items were discussed, deliberated and action taken:

• Unanimous vote to keep the same rental amount on County buildings leased to HHSC and Central Appraisal District at this time;

• Tabled the proposed revision to San Saba County Commissioner Precinct Lines;

• Each Commissioner reported the rainfall and conditions in their areas. There was a unanimous vote to lift the burn ban. Arrangements will be made to take down the Burn Ban signs; and

• County Treasurer Gayla Hawkins reported that there were no proposed amendments or line item transfers to the 07-08 Budget.

There being no further items on the agenda, Judge Theodosis adjourned the meeting. Those in attendance were: Judge Byron Theodosis, Commissioners Ricky Lusty, Roger McGehee, Kenley Kroll and Otis Judkins; County Clerk Kim Wells; County Treasurer Gayla Hawkins; County Coordinator Marsha Hardy, County Attorney David Williams, County Chief Appraiser Randy Henderson, Administrative Assistant Cathi Miles, and Alice Smith, San Saba News & Star Reporter.
